Facility Maintenance Worker

Required Qualifications:

Overview:      

Under the general direction of the Industrial Safety and Training Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Logistics Support Manager, the Facility Maintenance Worker will assist in the general upkeep and common area housekeeping duties in an aircraft maintenance and repair facility. The position will perform the following tasks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Ensure that all aircraft maintenance areas including flight line and parking lots are clear of materials that could damage of create hazardous conditions for either aircraft, aircraft support equipment, vehicles and personnel.

·         Performs monitoring, collection, handling, and proper disposal of Hazardous Waste in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations with the assistance of the Industrial Safety and Training Coordinator.

·         Performs general facility maintenance such as painting, performing minor repairs, and general grounds keeping.

·         Understands and follows all safety rules.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Experience, Skills and Education:

·         Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent.

·         Must possess a valid California driver’s license.

·         One year of industry work experience in the repair and maintenance of facilities or light equipment, or acceptable equivalent.

·         Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

Desired Experience and Skills:

·         Hazardous Waste Operations Certification (HAZWOPER) or related training experience highly desired.

·         Prior forklift experience or certification is helpful.
